Housing Unit Sales and Pricing in Maryland, 2017 - 2024
With the release of 2023 data, SDAC staff refined the analysis of annual residential
sales activity. Housing units categorized as rental are now excluded from our residential
sales data reports. With this adjustment, the data better reflects the sales levels and
prices experienced by homebuyers in Maryland. In the interest of providing trend
information under the new approach, we have historically revised the reports back to year 2017 for methodological consistency. Note that the data from 2002–2016 remains
unadjusted. Please refer to the 2024 methodology statement for additional information.
Note: Previously published data for 2024 was updated on September 30 to include revisions to residential sales data affecting Baltimore City. As a result of these changes, the figures for the Baltimore Region and Maryland contain adjustments as well.
