Local TOD Policies and Programs
Main_Content
Many Maryland planners and policy-makers are seeking opportunities to capitalize on transit systems by encouraging TOD. Many localities with existing and potential transit service have developed policies and regulations, and some have developed a comprehensive TOD framework with broad supportive planning strategies.
Local TOD efforts are supported by a variety of state and federal programs.
In 2019, there were more than 25 TOD projects in Maryland, most of them pursued in partnership with MDOT or WMATA. Learn more about those projects in the Transit Station Area Profile Tool by clicking each station site on the map.
